Mr Larry Chua
Mr Chua has more than 30 years of experience in Asian real estate. He is the Managing Director for MC Asia Management Pte Ltd since 2006.
In 2005, Mr Chua was the Senior Managing Director of ING Real Estate Investment Management, overseeing approximately US$1 billion of property assets. He was responsible for investments in South Korea and Taiwan, and was Country Head of Singapore, overseeing investments and asset performance in Asia.
Prior to ING Real Estate’s acquisition of Rodamco Asia N.V., an Amsterdam listed property company, Mr Chua was the Managing Director of the Asia Division of the Rodamco Group and subsequently Rodamco Asia N.V., from 1996 to 2004. From its emergence in 1999 as an independently listed company, Rodamco Asia N.V.’s property portfolio grew from approximately US$265 million in 1999 to approximately US$1 billion in 2004. Among Rodamco Asia’s developments during this time were Capital Square in Singapore, Shanghai Central Plaza in China, Rodamco Tower in Seoul and the Suria KLCC Mall in the Petronas Twin Towers (the world’s tallest building from 1998 to 2004) in Malaysia.
Prior to joining Rodamco, Mr Chua served as the General Manager, Group General Manager and, subsequently, Executive Vice President of Pidemco Land Pte Ltd from 1989 (a Singapore government-linked property company now known as CapitaLand Limited, among Southeast Asia’s largest land developers). During his 7-year career at Pidemco Land, he was directly responsible for the company’s performance and oversaw Singapore’s first executive condominium development.
Mr Chua holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering and Master in Industrial & System Engineering from Singapore University. He is also a Chartered Engineer, U.K. In 2001, Mr Chua was awarded a Public Service Medal by the President of Singapore.
